Welcome to Tickton WI

Welcome to the information page of Tickton WI.  We are a comparatively new WI in the East Yorkshire Federation having re-started in 2011 after an eight year period without a WI in the village.  Our members come primarily from the parish of Tickton, Routh, Hull Bridge and Weel, but we also welcome members from the nearby town of Beverley, and local villages.

Our meetings are held in the Small Hall of the Village Hall in Main Street, Tickton, and they usually begin at 7.00pm and end at around 9.00pm. A varied programme of speakers, demonstrations and social evenings are planned each year, and members can also enjoy an organised afternoon tea at various local tea rooms occasionally, theatre visits, a knit’n’natter group, a book group, an away day in August and, of course, a festive season lunch.  You may find photos and comments from some of our activities on the Tickton WI Facebook page.

Tickton WI also belongs to the White Cross Group which consists of a number of neighbouring WIs whose members meet two or three times a year to enjoy a social event together and, during the WI centenary year (in 2015) many celebrations were jointly organised, and much cake was eaten.

Visitors are always very welcome at our meetings, where we ‘arrive as strangers but leave as friends’, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch, or call in to see us at any of our meetings, if you’d like more information.  Email ticktonwi@eastyorkshirewi.org.uk
