Dawn Williams

Dawn is currently a member of Howden WI and has been since she moved there in 2022. She is the treasurer, which is a role she took on in 2023. Dawn joined the board of trustees in 2024 and is thoroughly enjoying her WI experience, feeling like she has found her tribe. Joining the WI was something that Dawn had wanted to do for many years. Prior to her retirement Dawn worked in an educational setting and prior to that she was a project officer, where she developed community projects in her local village. Retirement then provided the perfect opportunity, to see what life had to offer. Dawn has always felt like a rebel without a cause and feels that the WI will provide her with the opportunity to use her voice to effect change. She believes we are all here to make a difference, however large or small that may be. Dawn’s favourite pastimes are spending time with her two grandchildren, family and friends, gardening and reading. One thing the WI has ticked off Dawn’s bucket list was her visit to The Royal Albert Hall and what an amazing experience it was!  Dawn is excited to see what else her WI journey will bring.
