Chrissie Southall

Chrissie has had a long career in Nursing seeing her qualify in General, Midwifery/Gynae & Orthopaedics.

She attained a First Class Honours in Psychology & finds people fascinating.

Chrissie held the prestigious honour of being the Mayor of her home town & was in local Politics for 2 years.

Having lived in East Yorkshire for 25 years following her marriage to an Army Veteran, enjoying a very active social life within the Military Wives sector & Re Unions.

Little known fact ...Whilst attending a rather "posh dinner" at Windsor Castle with the late Queen Elizabeth in attendance, Chrissie was asked if she could invite anyone to this Royal dinner who would she invite, she replied Eleanor Roosevelt & Winston Churchill!

Chrissie enjoys travelling, going to the theatre & cinema. she also enjoys entertaining & is an avid Crafter learning to Crochet online during the Covid outbreak. she also has a keen interest in Technology.

Chrissie helps with the childcare of her 2 Great grandchildren, who helped her through her healing process after a very sad loss in her personal life, she calls them her hearts lights!

Her reason for joining the WI is it also helped her reintegrate back into life in general & socialising, she is the founder Member of the Driffield Afternoon WI she holds the Role of Secretary & is in charge of the Groups Media. Saying of the WI "she has found her tribe!"
